Informational Leafleting at the “Liquid Music” Concerts Feb. 26 & 27

Months ago, SPCO management received notification from the Musicians Union that union musicians can not work for the Liquid Music series as long as the orchestra is locked out. But somehow management convinced union musicians Sarah Kirkland Snider and yMusic that it would be OK.

On Tuesday they withdrew from this series, but non-union musician Shara Worden offered to perform a 45-minute “My Brightest Diamond” duo set for ticket holders in place of the originally scheduled performances, still in The Music Room of The SPCO Center in the Hamm Building.

Please join some Save Our SPCO members and some orchestra musicians and other concerned citizens in an informational leafleting initiative outside The Hamm Building, 408 Saint Peter Street in downtown Saint Paul.  Since ticket holders are invited to arrive early for drinks at The Meritage Bar in The Music Room, we will gather starting at 6:30 in the lobby and outside on the sidewalk. It will be low-key and peaceful and non-interfering – we just want the attendees to know that the sponsoring organization has locked out its own musicians. Please come and just stand with us, or hand out some leaflets, or hold a musicians’ “Let’s Play” lawn sign.
